Straw Bale School, Malawi, Africa

Straw Bale School is a school in Malawi, Africa proposed by NUDES built out of straw bale and other economical and local means of construction.

The main challenge from the architectural visualization side was to recreate the African landscape in 3D. Specific types of landscape features and vegetation were identified and produced digitally – including the savannah landscape elements like the ingenious trees, the fields, the hilly skyline in the distance, etc.

The renders required a fair amount of work in 3D using Blender and Rhino3D as well as post-production in Adobe Photoshop.
